Why commission an original?
- Owning an original painting from an artist you like can be an extraordinary experience.
- Seeing something in a piece that speaks to you can be very personal, and being able to experience that every day is special.
- Having a piece specifically made for you can be an even more enriching experience. It combines the feeling of enjoying a piece of art that speaks to you with the people you care about and experiences of your own life.
I've been painting professionally for 10 years and I specialize in figurative and portrait work. I bring a unique and creative spin to my paintings with a mixture of techniques that create a dynamic visual experience while focusing the person being painted.

The Commission Process
Please Note: Commissions start at $600 USD for an 11 x 14 inch panel or canvas
The commission process is designed to be straightforward. Here's how it works:
1. Fill out the contact form - After the client has decided that they want to commission a piece, they will fill out the contact form and pay the $25 application fee (this fee is for my time to review your application and references, create a timeline and prepare for our consultation). This fee is non-refundable and will be applied to the down payment of your painting.
This will help me understand what the client is looking for and decide if I will be able to complete a piece that will make you happy
2. Scheduling a consultation - I will respond with a quote and a request to pay for and schedule a consultation. The consultation is to go over any other questions the client or I may have, walk them through the timeline and explain the process in more detail. This fee is non-refundable and will be applied to the down payment as well.
After the consultation the client will receive an invoice for the remainder of the down payment and an agreement outlining the terms of the commission. The client will have one week to return the signed agreement and pay the fee or they will be dropped from my working schedule and your painting will not be completed
3. I begin the painitng - Once I have received the signed agreement and payment, I start working on the piece. I will send sketches within the first 1 to 2 weeks of the project, depending on the complexity of the piece, and I will email photos at the halfway point to ensure the project is progressing to the client's liking
4. The piece is finished! - I send the client photos of the finished piece to make sure they are happy with the final product. Once the client has confirmed that they are happy with the piece, I will send you an invoice for the final payment. Once payment is received, I will ship the piece to the client after it is dry and has been varnished.

What are you looking for in a painting?
Here are some questions to consider that can help you define what kind of painting you're looking for
- What is the subject of your painting?
- Can you describe what you're looking for?
- What size painting do you have in mind?
- Do you prefer a portrait (vertical) or landscape (horizontal) orientation?
- Are there any of my pieces that interest you in particular?
Other things to consider
Creating an original oil painting takes time. Please allow a minimum of 8 weeks for the piece to be completed and shipped. Some pieces may be able to be completed in a shorter amount of time but a rush fee will be applied
